God Winks

A great gathering at the river below the hillside at sunrise: sheep on the pasture, cups raised, the valley shining

MY GOD WINK

Some moments change you.

Others reveal what God has been showing you all along.

This journey has been fifty-six years in the making, a life well lived, with more still to give.

But the road here ran through the valley.

Between 2020 and 2021, our family experienced devastating loss: my granddaughter's mother, my brother, and then my mother after a 15 year battle with Alzheimer's, yet a woman blessed with so many gifts.

Grief settled over me heavier than I knew how to carry.

Yet even there, God was leaving winks and showing up in my life.

Through my daughter's journey, 2012 to 2017, and the story we tell in Tragedy to Triumph, He began revealing truth when I could barely see tomorrow's victory in my own life or hers.

Overlooking the valley: the hill, the pasture of sheep, the river glistening like diamonds

In 2024, I finally went after my own healing at a retreat in Mexico. During a transcendental breathing experience with my sister beside me, I found myself standing on the most magnificent hill overlooking a pasture of sheep, a valley, and a river that glistened like diamonds.

It was breathtaking.

And somehow, it was home. I had been there.

I turned around and found myself in the presence of Jesus.

Then...

The message I received became a promise I intend to fulfill: heal myself through His forgiveness and pour into others as He pours into me. The story is so surreal and beautiful.

I saw my mother. I experienced her forgiveness for not being present at her passing. And I saw a classroom that matched, in extraordinary detail, a message my grandchild had handed me only a week earlier.

Something changed.

What began as my own healing journey became a calling.

Decode Your Body became one doorway: science backed research to help my body listen, and to care for it with discipline and truth.

But I began to understand there was more: mind, body, soul and spirit.

Then came another God wink. In 2026 something shifted in me. The last two years of personal and professional setbacks and growth all connected for me...

God gives every one of us spiritual gifts.

Not just pastors.
Not just teachers.
Not just a chosen few.
Every one of us.

His way had been written in Scripture all along. We simply have to be willing to open the gift.

Finally, I personally am answering His calling.

And perhaps that's why you're here.

If this is the first time anyone has ever told you that your Father designed you on purpose, for a purpose, welcome home.

He is real.
Now let Him show you.

You have a gift. Are you using it? What is your God Wink nudging you toward: your purpose and your passion?

As grief often comes out of nowhere on a seemingly "regular" day, I found myself crying again and asking God genuinely why my brother was taken from this earth before so many of the things we prayed for had been fulfilled. We were all hoping for the day that he would no longer be incarcerated and he would truly find the healing he desperately needed to be free from addiction. God gently reminded me of a conversation I had with my brother (Clay) shortly before his death; he had asked me to pray that he would be released from his situation before the end of the year. I fervently prayed for that to happen and my family did too, but our thoughts of how that would happen were much different than what actually happened. We never imagined that God would answer our prayers with a divine release to heaven, but God reminded me on that day, while I cried on the bathroom floor, "Do you remember what he asked you to pray for? I answered his prayer." I have never felt such mixed emotions at once, but the overwhelming feeling was joy. It was a knowing and a gentle reminder that we never know the whole story, but we can trust that God is working all things together for the good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). My brother, Clay, passed before the year ended (as he had requested to be released), and on that random day when grief hit hard almost 1.5 years later, God reminded me that he answered my brother's very specific prayer. He even reminded me of the vision he had given me of the angel protecting him and escorting him away from it all. Although I miss him beyond measure, I have peace knowing that he is truly free now and surrounded by God's love. God stays true to His Word. He never leaves us. He never forsakes us.

I felt this was the best place to share how Jesus Christ led me to start this wall. He showed me where I personally needed healing in 2024, in a breathing session beside my sister. We had taken a retreat to biohack our nervous systems in Mexico, and somewhere in all of the science, Jesus showed me all I so needed to see. As I write this, it's approaching late Summer of 2026, and He has shown me in so many ways the healing power of love and forgiveness. He has also shown me Grace and Mercy! I am not perfect. I am only doing what He has shown me to do: heal myself first, then fill the cups of others. One story and one person at a time! So what is a God Wink? God Winks are those awww moments that can't be explained by anything other than His amazing timing. A phone call at just the right moment. A stranger with just the right words. A door that opens the very day you stopped trying to force it. That's not coincidence. That's Him! "He hath made every thing beautiful in his time." Ecclesiastes 3:11 "The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way." Psalm 37:23 From real estate sales to small diner talks, God is still writing our stories! And now I want to hear yours. This wall is for all of us. Share your God Wink stories here, big or small, because someone out there needs to read exactly what He did for you. The only thing you must do is listen and take the first step. Show up, pray, and love one another! Together we can be our best self right now. That's all God wants us to be! Present! Joyful! Peaceful! Loving and caring to others! I can't wait to read your God Winks and dive into the stories that He knows it's time to share. Join us together on the journey! Love always, Momma Liz
